Rice Treat Bunny Pops

We watch alot of TLC shows- and watching cake shows, they use rice treats all the time to form almost any shape.

So we decided to take our rice treats today and make bunny heads. It was so easy. You need to do it when your rice treats are warm to the touch but not hot. Using standard shapes with the kids. Making balls and flattening them for the head, and a small one for the snout. Triangles for the ears. Pretty easy. We stuck a lollipop stick in it. Because we are impatient people, we put our treats in the fridge so they would harden up quicker.

Added candy, and cut out shapes from the candy with kitchen scissors (and help from mom & dad of course)

Here is a break down on what we used.

Face- rice treats
Nose – M&M Candy
Eyes – mini M&M Candy
Whiskers- Purple Twizzlers cut up into strips  (we had rainbow left over from St. Patrick’s Day)
Inside of the ears – Swedish fish cut to length and then cut in half the long way so they were sticky exposed to stick on with no help)
Bow- Tails of the Swedish Fish cut and stuck on
Bow Center- Mini M&M

Using kitchen scissors was my job.  Very little icing was needed to stick anything on. The Eyes, Nose, and M&M Center of the bow was all we needed. We just have little tubes of icing from the store. So we use them as we need them. The decorators icing for cookies.

The whiskers the 3 pieces when you press them together they stuck themselves. By cutting up the Twizzlers it exposes some sticky side so it helps to be self adhesive. We just used a tooth pick to press it under the snout and it stayed very well.

They kids were so excited by this Family Home Evening activity.
