Earth Day Water Bottles (File included)

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!

One of the things we give our kids every Earth day is a new water bottle. To cut down on the plastic ones that you end up recycling and throwing away. Also saves money in my pocket too!

I picked up some cute water bottles for 1.00 at my local Hobby Lobby. I decided I wanted to use my Silhouette machine to add something cute on it. Something other than just an Earth for Earth day.

I am making this tutorial for a friend of mine. She just got a Silhouette as well and hasn’t taken it out of the box. So I wanted to show her how easy it is.

Once you make the file (CLICK HERE TO DOWN LOAD THE PEACE LOVE RECYCLE) file for your Silhouette. I designed it using my clip art and trace. But I did all the work for you. ENJOY!

I also cut out my kidlets names. Once I cut everything out on my Silhouette, I individually cut out the pieces. Since I was making 2 bottles. I had 4 pieces. (2) Names and (2) Peace Love Recycle.ย  I then peeled away the excess.

Make sure you get all the inside pieces removed as well. I use my sharp tweezers.

Add transfer paper to the top of you sticker and use a card or credit card (or even your fingers) to make sure the paper is rubbed down very well.

Here you can see all 4 of my pieces.

Make sure the surface of the bottle is clean and peel off the top transfer paper. Your vinyl should now be stuck on to the transfer paper and the backing you can discard.ย  Place the stickers/vinyl on your bottle evenly. It’s hard to remove it once you stick it on the bottle so make sure you don’t get it crooked. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now you may peel away the top transfer paper and your vinyl design is stuck on to your bottle. ๐Ÿ™‚ WOOHOO!

I turned it over to the back side and added the names ๐Ÿ™‚ Repeat for all the pieces. You may need to rub your vinyl with your fingers carefully so it will stick better. And peel away the transfer paper slowly. If it is not sticking to your bottle . Back up, and rub down the vinyl harder with your finger till it catches.

There you have it. Cute new water bottles for Earth Day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Peace, Love & Recycle

Love it! Where did you get the bottles. Those are just the right size for little ones, but I can’t find any like them locally.
