Happy Earth Day 2010

We went all out and had a Earth Day party with the kids. 🙂  Decorated the house with earth stuff etc. One of the fun things we did was boil eggs, and make them look like planet Earth.

Then we stood them up using the top of a soda or water bottle cap. They stood up perfectly for display on our tables, then we simply cracked them and ate them.

Easter is over– Here is how we made them.

Boiled eggs for 10 minutes and take it off the heat.
While it is boiling I added about 1/2 cup of vinegar to the water and 8 drops of blue food coloring liquid.

Once the eggs were boiled and dried/cooled.

In another cup put in 1 tablespoon of vinegar and about 4 – 5 drops of green.

Used a cotton swab and painted on the green planet markings.

Pretty easy and alot of fun. The kids were very excited to crack open their earth to enjoy a yummy boiled egg.

Not so much a recipe other than an idea!

Have fun and Happy Earth Day!
