Sausage Stuffing

My mother in law made this for dinner at her house last week. We enjoyed it so much, we got the recipe from her and made it the very next day for Thanksgiving. It was a huge hit with our 21 guests at the dinner table that afternoon.

EASY EASY!!

It is not 100% from scratch but more of how to fix up the ordinary into extraordinary!!

This served 6 with left overs

2 boxes of Stovetop Stuffing – 1 each Chicken flavor and Herb flavor
1 red pepper finely diced
1 green pepper finely diced
1 medium/large onion finely diced
Celery finely diced – approx 1 cup worth
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 package breakfast sausage (we used regular however my mother in law used hot/spicy)

Put all the vegetables into a sauce pan and saute all the veggies. Then add in your sausage and cook till brown with the veggies. Pour off the grease.

In a bowl- put in your 2 boxes of StopTop stuffing and 2 cups of hot water.  Mix till moist. If still too dry add water till moist.

Then mix in your sausage/veggie mixture into your stuffing. Hand mix well and put in a 9×13 greased pan.  Bake at 350 degrees till brown.  Approximately 20-25 minutes.

This is THE BEST!!!!
